SNOW DEER

SNOW DEER. The temperature was hovering around zero degrees Fahrenheit on Friday when this whitetail deer poked its head through the frozen branches of this old hedgerow inside Stony Creek Metropark in Washington Township. A closer look reveals light snow on the deer’s nose and head, demonstrating that it was not losing body heat and how well-suited it is for the environment. (Photo by Larry Sobczak)
