Rosalie Kay Detkowski, 75, of Millington, died Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center of Mayville. Rosalie Kay Brookins was born May 15, 1949 in Detroit. She is the daughter of the late Jack and the late Edna (Brookins) Mason. She married Frank Joseph Detkowski on Jan. 24, 1970 in Utica.
Rosalie grew up in Texas. She and her family moved around the country due to her father’s service in the military. She was a self-employed horticulturist and owned and operated Summer Gardens Greenhouses located at 36 Mile Road and Van Dyke for more than 32 years. Rosalie was a member of Macomb County Horticultural Society.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Nora Jean) Detkowski of Roseville and James (Misha) Detkowski of Imlay City; sister, Tina Perry; brothers, Arnold Jackson Mason, Rodney Mason, Robert Mason and Almond Mason; grandchildren, Ryan Michael Detkowski, Sarah Elisabeth Budzyn, Candice Detkowski, Trevor Detkowski, Gabrielle Detkowski, Joseph Detkowski, Mary Jane Detkowski and Wesley Detkowski.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Detkowski in 2003; sons, Frank Joseph Detkowski and Joseph Frank Detkowski; sisters, NaDeana Mason and Elizabeth Mason; and brother, Scott Mason.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 24 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 North Main Street, Imlay City; and 10-11 a.m., Friday, April 18 at Imlay City Christian Reformed Church.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Imlay City Christian Reformed Church, 395 Cedar Street, Imlay City. The Rev. Alex Snider will officiate.
Interment will follow at West Berlin Cemetery in Allenton.
