Marsha Jean “Nina” Johnson, 74, formerly of Romeo, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Troy. She was born on May 29, 1950, in Rochester, the beloved daughter of Shirley Johnson and Millard (Sherman) Johnson.

Marsha was a proud lifelong Michigander whose heart remained deeply rooted in her beloved hometown of Romeo. She found great joy in the traditions and community spirit of the area, especially cherishing the annual Peach Festival, which she attended annually for many years.

Known affectionately as “Nina,” Marsha had a vibrant spirit that shone brightest when she was surrounded by family. She found immense joy in watching her granddaughters play sports—cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. Her playful nature came alive during family game nights where laughter often echoed through the room—especially when she bent the rules just enough to keep things interesting.

A gifted artisan, Marsha loved to knit and took great pleasure in creating beautiful handmade items. Her talent for crafting extended beyond skill—it was an expression of love that she shared generously with those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Renee Schuett and son-in-law Matthew Schuett; her cherished granddaughters, Maddie and Reece Schuett; her brothers, Ric Johnson, David Johnson and his wife Eileen; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who were touched by her kindness and humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Frank Johnson.

In honor of Marsha’s enduring strength and compassion, donations may be made in her memory to support breast cancer patients atwww.metavivor.org

May Marsha’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

To honor her and celebrate her life, we will host a celebration of life at a later date.
