Joy Alexander, 86, of Lakeville, died Saturday, April 26, 2025. She was born Nov. 29, 1938 in Detroit, the daughter of Chris and Pauline Coutoumanos.
Joy was best known for her generosity, love for her family, and faith in God. She enjoyed an especially close relationship with her sisters, and had a genuine interest in the lives of everyone she met. Joy loved the company of children and had an ability to join them in imaginative play no matter their age — or hers! She had a successful, decades-long career in the regulatory department with Michigan Bell Telephone Company.
Joy is survived by her children, Deborah and Susan (David), sisters Joan (Mark) and Gay (Steve), many dear nieces and nephews, and was the beloved Imma to Lauren, Michael, and Lily.
Joy’s daughters would like to thank her friends, family, caregivers, and the Willows Senior Living for their loving support and care this past year. We are grateful.
