On April 16, 2025, the Township Board of Trustees for the Charter Township of Washington, Macomb County, Michigan, adopted an Amendment of the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 138 as amended. The purpose of the Amendment is to provide additional permitted uses within the Village Center District; to reduce the middle and front yard setback from local roadways within the Village Center District; provide regulations for building entrances, windows on second and higher floors, require streetscape amenities to promote development of a vibrant, walkable and accessible Village district; to provide additional lighting regulations; to revise regulations for drive-thru facilities within the Village Center District and repeal any and all Ordinances and Resolutions in conflict therewith.
A complete copy of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment is posted in the office of the Township Clerk located at 57900 Van Dyke Avenue, Washington Township, Michigan 48094 and on the Washington Township website which can be accessed at www.washingtontownship.org. The Zoning Ordinance Amendment may be reviewed, inspected or a copy purchased at the Township Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Ordinance Amendment shall take effect seven (7) days after this publication.
