Pres. Coenen called meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Council members present at roll call: Coenen, Clark, Barzyk, Adair, and Shall. Absent: Stirrett and Boelke. Also present: Clerk Poulos, Treasurer Porter, Jeffery Bahorski, Stacy Sobotka, Bob Richter, and Kevin Grand.
COUNCIL ACTION: Unanimously approved Agenda as presented. Heard and Received: Treasurer’s Report for May, 2025; F & V Report for April, 2025; Code Enforcement Report for May, 2025; Verbal Reports from the Planning Commission Liaison/Park Commissioner and the Street Administrator. Approved the Consent Agenda as presented: RCM Minutes of 05/27/25 approved as presented; Payment of Bills totaling $114,425.55 as presented. Unanimously approved: to approve and waive the competitive bid process as provided in the Village Code Section 7-2, the bid from Teltow Contracting, Inc. in the not to exceed amount of $16,975.00 to replace two (2) catch basins on Burk Street and to allow the Street Administrator to sign on behalf of the Village. This will require a budget amendment from the General Fund to the Municipal Street Fund; to approve the millage rate to be levied by the Treasurer for tax year 2025 for operating the General Fund be levied at the reduced rate of 8.4791 mills in compliance with the Headlee 2025 reduction factor of 1.0000 Section MCL211.34d; to approve the millage rate to be levied by the Treasurer for tax year 2025 for operating the Municipal Street Fund be levied at the reduced rate of 3.3913 mills in compliance with the Headlee 2025 reduction factor of 1.0000 Section MCL211.34d; to approve the millage rate to be levied by the Treasurer for tax year 2025 Public Act 33 Special Assessment be levied at the Council electively reduced rate of 1.7500 these funds will be used for Police Health and Safety Operations; to authorize the Clerk, President, and Treasurer to sign all warrants and forms related to the 2025 tax roll; to appoint Village Clerk Michelle Poulos and Trustee Jo Adair to the Single Waste Hauler Joint Committee between the Village and Township.
