The Treasurer’s Offices of Bruce and Washington are currently accepting Summer 2025 Tax Deferment Applications.
To apply for your Principal Residence Deferment, your total gross household income must not exceed $40,000 for the preceding tax year, and the applicant must also meet one of the following criteria: 1) be at least 62 years of age; or 2) be totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic, or quadriplegic; or 3) be an eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, or eligible widow or widower.
Those who farm agricultural real property may also qualify, provided the property is classified or used as agricultural real property and that the gross receipts from agricultural or horticultural operations in the previous year (or the average gross receipts for such operations over the past three years) are not less than the household income for the preceding calendar year.
More information and the deferment applications can be obtained from your Township’s Treasurer’s Office. Deferment applications must be filed before 9/12/25 with your local Treasurer.

All tax bills will have been mailed by July 1, 2025. Contact your Treasurer’s office if you have not received your bill.
