PUBLIC NOTICE – TOWNSHIP OF RAY NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, to the Qualified Electors of Ray Township that a SPECIAL ELECTION will be held in the Township of Ray, County of Macomb, State of Michigan on: Tuesday, August 5, 2025

RAY TOWNSHIP PRECINCTS 1 and 2: Ray Township Hall, 64255 Wolcott Road, Ray, MI 48096. The polls of said election will be open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. Early Voting is NOT available for the August 5, 2025 Special Election. All precincts are handicap accessible.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Millage Renewal for Ray Township Fire and Rescue Operations, Millage Renewal for Ray Township Fire and Rescue Department Equipment and Truck Replacement and the Armada Area Schools Special Election.

THE FOLLOWING PROPOSALS WILL APPEAR ON THE BALLOT:

Millage Renewal for Ray Township

Fire and Rescue Operations

Shall the constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the unincorporated and incorporated area of the Township of Ray, Macomb County, Michigan, be increased by one and one-half (1.5) mills for each one ($1.00) dollar ($1.50 for each $1,000.00) of the taxable value of such property, as finally equalized, for a period of five (5) years (2026 through 2030 inclusive) for the purpose of providing funds for the operation and maintenance of the Ray Township Fire and Rescue Department?

The estimated amount of revenue that will be collected in the first year that the millage is authorized and levied is $491,738.62.

This proposed millage is a renewal of a previously authorized millage and does not constitute new additional millage. ( ) Yes ( ) No

Shall the constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the unincorporated and incorporated area of the Township of Ray, Macomb County, Michigan, be increased by one (1.0) mill for each one ($1.00) dollar ($1.00 for each $1,000.00) of the taxable value of such property, as finally equalized, for a period of five (5) years (2026 through 2030 inclusive) for the purpose of providing funds for the purchase of equipment and truck replacement for the Ray Township Fire and Rescue Department?

The estimated amount of revenue that will be collected in the first year that the millage is authorized and levied is $327,825.74.

This proposed millage is a renewal of a previously authorized millage and does not constitute new additional millage.

ARMADA AREA SCHOOLS

GENERAL OBLIGATION UNLIMITED TAX BOND PROPOSAL

FOR BUILDING AND SITE PURPOSES IN THE AMOUNT OF

NOT TO EXCEED $12,155,000

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT THE BONDS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, IF APPROVED BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE ELECTORS AT THIS ELECTION, WILL BE GENERAL OBLIGATION UNLIMITED TAX BONDS PAYABLE FROM GENERAL AD VALOREM TAXES.

The Polls for said election will open at 7:00 AM and remain open until 8:00 PM on Election Day. To verify registration status please call 586-749-5171 Ext. 201 or visit www.michigan.gov/vote Early Voting is NOT available for the August 5, 2025 Special Election.

The Township Clerk’s office will be open from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 for the purpose of issuing and receiving absentee voter ballots. Persons qualified to vote by absentee ballot in the Special Election may vote in person in the Clerk’s office up to 4:00 PM, August 4, 2025. Early Voting is NOT available for the August 5, 2025 Special Election.
