Patricia Griffin (Malinowski), 77, of Romeo, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. She was born Oct. 17, 1948, in Detroit.
Patricia was the loving mother of Joe, Sarah, and Dan Griffin and the devoted grandmother of Jackson, Colleen, Layla, Dane, and Ivy Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Griffin, in 1987, and her sister, Karen Smith, in 1977.
She is survived by her siblings Jeanie Bicanich, Steve, Rita, Revel, Wendy, Roger, Brian and Ian Smith, daughters-in-law, Suzanne and Julia Griffin, nephews and nieces.
Patricia was a loving, caring and generous woman. As a big sister and maternal figure to many, she spent most of her life taking care of others in countless ways. Her systematic and meticulous nature took her through careers from office to service to production, always dependable to help those around her. Patricia enjoyed the simplicity of being outdoors tending her flower beds and listening to birdsong, reading regional cookbooks and completing puzzle books with a cup of tea. She was practical and sensible, encouraging others to eat more vegetables and zip up their coats. Patricia was the kind of person to make you want to stand up a little straighter, but welcome you into her home to breathe a little easier. She had no idea how funny she was, and imparted advice and wisdom in her particular matter-of-fact way. Patricia especially valued time spent with her family and children, providing the gift of cozy blankets, fresh coffee, ice cream cones and the best sandwiches.
Above all, Patricia will be remembered for her love of family, her caring nature, and the many ways she gave of herself to the people around her. She will be deeply missed, and her impact and influence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
