Notice is hereby given that there will be a public hearing before the Richmond Township Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at the Richmond Township Hall located at 34900 School Section, Richmond, Michigan 48062 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear and receive comments relating to the requested variance to the following Richmond Township Zoning Ordinance Section 4.16 Private Ponds. Private ponds other than required stormwater retention or detention purposes, shall be located on a parcel having a principal residence and a minimum land area of at least three (3) acres and shall be located at least fifty (50) feet from any property line.
The applicants currently have a pond on 1.060 acres, 10 feet from the property line. The applicants have proposed to purchase acreage from the neighbor, increasing the property line to 25 feet from the pond, requesting a variance of 25 feet from the required 50 feet from any property line.
