
The Armada Village Council unanimously voted at its Sept. 11 meeting to designate The Record newspaper as the village’s official newspaper to publish official notices.
Some council members cited frustration in obtaining subscriptions to the former official newspaper, The Voice, as a reason to switch publications.
The Record was founded in 2015 by former employees of The Romeo Observer when that newspaper closed its doors after 149 years of publishing.
Around the same time, The Armada Times ceased publication and it was folded into The Voice newspaper in New Baltimore. The Record responded by expanding its news coverage in the Armada area.
