OLDEST HOUSE November 15, 2017 With red maples framing each side of the Ewell House on North Bailey Street in Romeo, this photo makes for the perfect autumn scene. At 180 years old, the Ewell House is the oldest known home in the village and was the residence for one of the pioneer families of Romeo. It’s longevity has not always been guaranteed—this home faced demolition in 1985.
