ELAINE A. THEUT

Elaine A. Theut, 82, of Romeo since 1977, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 at Wellbridge of Romeo.   She was born June 27, 1936 in Mount Clemens, the daughter of John Deforest and Amanda M. (Bossow) Schlaff.  She married Edwin Theut II, on Sept. 7, 1957 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Mount Clemens.

Along with her husband and children, they were owners/operators of Theut Products Inc.  Her hobbies included oil painting, ceramics, gardening and crocheting. Along with her family, they were longtime members of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; children, Edwin J. (Karen) of Romeo, Eric (Mary) of Chesterfield Township, Evan of Romeo and Elena of Romeo; grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Meerschaert, Samantha (Brad) Meyers, Edwin IV, Alyssa (Tim) Child, Austin (Megan), Sarah, Jordan, Katie, Josephine, Evan II, Elaine and Evalyn; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Meerschaert, Avery Meerschaert, Rhett Meerschaert and Lucas Meyers.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 and 2-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, with a rosary by the Knight of Columbus, Council # 7018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo

Funeral service will take place on 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Baltimore.

Donations to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
