
Howard Rudolph Falker, 96, of Romeo, has gone to be with his Lord on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at Crittenton Hospital, Rochester. He was born Aug. 25, 1922 in Romeo to Rudolph Carl Falker and Elizabeth Baade Falker. He married Marjorie Elsie Kiehler on Nov. 10, 1945.
Howard was a dairy farmer in Bruce Township and operated the farm that he purchased in 1948. The farm was his passion and he could often be seen just walking though the fields admiring the crops and soil. His son, Mark, continues to run the farm. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Romeo where he was baptized, confirmed and married. He belonged to many organizations during his farming career including, Soil Conservation, Farm Bureau, MMPA, Wolcott Mill Metropolitan Park, and he was St. John’s Church Council chairman during a major building addition at the church.
He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Marjorie on Jan. 10, 1992; sisters, Lydia Griffin and Louise Trombley; and brother, Martin Falker.
He is survived by his close friend and companion, Joanne Banghart; four children, Howard(Karlene) Falker, Barbara (Robert) Barron, Beverly (Craig) Nyeholt and Mark (Robin) Falker; 14 grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Falker, Eric(Katja) Falker, Todd(Samantha) Falker, Mitchell Barron, Wesley Barron, and Tucker Barron, Christopher (Sarah) Nyeholt, Kimberly (Giorgio) Tencza and Kyle (Ashley) Nyeholt, Nicole (Jeffery) Smiley, Brandon (Bethany) Falker, Olivia (David) Friedli, Yvonne (Nathan) Miller and Dylan Falker. Also, there are 24 great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
Visitation will be held at Malburg Funeral Home on 11280 32 Mile Rd, Romeo, 2-8 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 6. Additional visitation is to be held 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7 at St. John Lutheran Church, 246 Benjamin Street, Romeo with a 11 a.m. Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Romeo.
