
Mary Ann White, 73, of Dryden, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 at the Wellbridge Nursing Facility in Romeo. She was born Dec. 24, 1944 to Sidney and Caroline (Beilfuss) Savage in Fremont. She married Dr. Larry White 53 years ago.
After graduating from Fremont High School in 1963, Mary Ann earned her registered nursing degree at Cook County Nursing School in Chicago and began her career at Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri where she taught at the nursing school. She became the director of nursing at the Oxford Institute at St. Johns and the director of the wound care center at Mount Clemens General. She also taught as a licensed practicing nurse instructor at Truman University.
Mary Ann enjoyed life to the fullest, enjoying skiing, boating, traveling the world, spending winters at Marco Island and summers at their Lakeville cottage.
She is survived by her husband and their children, Mark (Allison) of E. Grand Rapids, Michelle of Savannah, Georgia, Jerry of Dryden and Dr. Barbara (Peter) Loria of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren, Grant, Mitchell, Katelyn and Erikson; and by her siblings, Ron (Christine) Savage Clarkston and Barbara Savage of Grand Rapids.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25 at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, 11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo.
Funeral is 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 3000 28 Mile Road, Washington Township.
