Luita Marue Risch, 83, of Romeo, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. She was born Dec. 6, 1935 in Urbana, Ill., the daughter of Ronald and Irene (Phillips) Stockwill. On June 8, 1957, she married Edmund Risch in Griffith, Ind.
She worked for a short time at IBM in Chicago, then upon moving to Romeo in 1972, she worked for the Dale Winnie Law Office on Main Street. She then worked as the parish secretary for St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo for 27 years, retiring in 2009. She had many and varied hobbies, from doing genealogy, golfing, playing tennis, all types of crafts and playing bridge. She was known for her marathon bridge games to support scholarships for high school seniors, member of the Newcomers Club and loved the history of Williamsburg and Colonial America.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; children, Jeanine, Julie, Karyn (Kelly), Jennifer (Josh) Jaros and Jeffrey (Prudy) Risch; grandchildren, Craig (Cydney), Ryan, Rachel, Dillon, Tiffany, Stacy (Joe); siblings, Judith (Steve) Dolak, Rochelle Anderson and Sheila Johnson; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan; her parents, Ronald and Irene; sister, Sharon Richtemeyer; brother-in-laws, Dick Richtemeyer and Don Anderson; and grandchild Hillary Baker.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28 with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo.
Funeral services will take place 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Romeo.
Burial is in the Romeo Cemetery.
