Monica S. Goodreau, 79, of Shelby Township since 2014 and previously from Spencerport, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019 at Fraser Villa Nursing Facility. She was born Feb. 1, 1939 in Jasper, N.Y., the daughter of Harley and Golda (Reynolds) Simpson. She was sixth of eight children. On Sept. 17, 1960, she married Merle D. Goodreau in Wellsville, N.Y.
Monica earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Sonyea State College in New York. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in North Chili, N.Y. for more than 40 years. Monica and Merle are current members of Faith Baptist Church in Warren. Her hobbies include designing/making porcelain dolls, sewing, quilting, making afghans and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Merle; children, Dianne (Stephen) Shellhammer of Maryland, Stephen (Janet) Goodreau of Wheaton, Ill., and Bruce (Sue) Goodreau of Bruce Township; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will take place 12-2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo.
Funeral services will take place on 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Berlin, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Warren, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Bruce-Armada Cemetery in Bruce Township.
