CALL-OF-THE-WILD

CALL-OF-THE-WILD. A coyote seems to stop and pose for a photograph as it ventures onto the ice on the lake at Stony Creek Metropark in Washington Township last week. Michigan Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Education Technician Hannah Schauer said that the secretive animal is found throughout the state including semi-urban parks in the local area. She said the coyotes primarily feed on small animals such as mice and voles but have been known to take larger prey such as rabbit and deer. (Photo by Paul Poronto)
