BABY ANIMALS

BABY ANIMALS. Spring has brought newborn farm animals to the farm center at Wolcott Mill Metropark in Ray Township. Colin Blake, 5, above left, scratches the neck of “Pepperoni” who seems to enjoy it. Aubrey Smith, upper right, from Sterling Heights, gets to hold a duckling. The third photo shows Lizzy, a red holstein breed born July 22, 2015, giving some affection to Marti, a brown Swiss breed born Jan. 5, 2017 and is overdue on giving birth to her calf. The farm has special programs to see these baby animals and more all week long. (Photos by Mike Nicley)
