BETTY VALENTI

Betty Jane Irene Valenti, 89, of Sterling Heights, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was born on Sept. 29, 1929 to Rose Mary Violet and Henry James Walter Purdy in Wawa Algoma, Ontario.

Her early years were spent living in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, before she relocated at the age of 22 to Detroit where she would later move to Romeo before settling down in Sterling Heights. Betty was a woman of true sacrifice; her family always coming first. Betty was a woman of true grit and admirable compassion. She worked for 25 years at Ford Motor to support her family and help further their individual pursuits. Later in life she found comfort in the little things: being able to mow her own lawn, gardening, spoiling her beloved dogs, and watching old Westerns. Yet, her greatest sense of pride and devotion was her family, and to them she will be forever missed.

She is survived by her children, Albert (Kathy) Valenti, Pamela (Mark) Pierce, Randy Valenti, Penni Valenti and Andrea Valenti; grandchildren, Jackie Ferrazza, Chris Valenti, Jefferey Goral, Steven Goral, Nicole Pierce, Dante DePerno, Paige DePerno and Morgan Wehrkamp.

She was predeceased by her son, Raymond Valenti and daughter, Brenda Goral.

She will be laid to rest in the Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, and her family will be having a small memorial service on Saturday, June 15, to remember and celebrate her long and meaningful life.
