Notice of Public Hearing
Armada Township Planning Commission
Notice is hereby given that the Armada Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on August 7, 2019 beginning at 7:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Armada Township Hall, 23121 East Main Street, Armada, MI 48005. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.
Text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance include:
• Amend Section 20.3 to clarify setback standards for oversized accessory buildings.
• Amend Section 2.16 to augment the special land use process for larger home-based businesses.
• Amend Section 5.07 to clarify where a special land use approval is required for a digital sign in accordance with recent actions of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
• Amend Section 6.02 to more clearly present parking standards and eliminate repeated standards.
• Amend Section 9.01 to clearly permit agri-business and the keeping of large animals for personal use in the R1 district.
• Amend Section 19.06 to provide for a detailed process for amendments to the zoning ordinance, including rezoning requests.
• Amend Section 20.01 to provide clearer definitions of temporary signs.
Written comments may be addressed to the Planning Commission at the Township Hall address. A copy of the proposed ordinance amendments will be available for public view at the Township Hall and on the Township website prior to the public hearing. Oral comments will be taken during the hearing on August 7, 2019.
This notice is published pursuant to the requirements of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, PA 110 of 2006, as amended.
