Alan Scott Dietlin, 57, of Meadville, Penn. and formerly of Romeo, went to be with the lord on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019. Alan was born on April 1, 1962 to Duane and Shirley Dietlin of Romeo.
He was a graduate of Romeo High School. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S Marine Corps. After completion of his enlistment he returned to Michigan where he worked with Southeast Michigan Health in insurance billing for many years. He then went to Meadville where he volunteered at St. James Haven Shelter where he assisted with job placement for veterans.
Alan is survived by his mother, Shirley; brothers, Michael (Lori) Dietlin of Almont and Ken (Sharon)Dietlin of Dothan, Ala.; sisters, Annette (Dave)Lock, Debbie (Dale)Wagner of Auburn Hills, Beth (Ron) Kammer of Richmond and Kim(Bob)Tomes of Shelby Township. Alan also had eight nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, Duane.
A private family celebration of life will be held in June 2020. In lieu of cards, it is the family’s wish that a simple donation be made to St. James Haven, P.O. Box 15, Meadville, PA 16355 in Alan’s memory.
