The Macomb County Health Department opened a COVID-19 drive-through testing site for all Macomb County residents.
Testing is available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The presence of symptoms related to COVID-19 are not required for a person to be tested.
The COVID-19 test being used is a simple process that involves a gentle swipe of each nostril.
“Testing remains critical to our efforts to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Macomb County Health Department Director and Health Officer William Ridella. “We encourage everyone to get tested.”
Testing is by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling the Health Department’s COVID-19 Helpline at 586-463-3750, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
There is no cost for testing and a prescription is not required.
As part of the testing process, people must remain in their vehicles from the time they arrive until they depart.
The drive-through test site is located in the parking lot of the former Macomb County Juvenile Court Building located at 380 Rose Street in Mount Clemens.
