PUBLIC NOTICE – CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND – PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION – NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – Wed., Sept. 9, 2020, 7 p.m.

Oakland Township logoThe Charter Township of Oakland Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant application for the funding of a park property acquisition in Sections 4 and 9 of Oakland Township. The 235-acre site proposed for acquisition is bordered to the north by West Predmore Road, to the west by Oakview Middle School and Lake George Road and to the east by Lost Lake Nature Park, to which this proposed acquisition would be added.

The Public Hearing will be held Wednesday September 9, 2020 at 7:00 pm during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission held as an electronic videoconference through the “GoToMeeting” platform, in accordance with the Michigan Governor’s Executive Order 2020-154. The public may participate in the meeting by computer, tablet or smart phone using the following link: https://www.gotomeet.me/OaklandTownship/ot-public-govt-meetings or can dial in by phone: United States: +1 (646) 749-3112 using Access Code: 248-219-757. Public comments may also be e-mailed to parks@oaklandtownship.org prior to 4:30 pm on the date of this meeting to be read aloud at the meeting.

Copies of the draft grant application will be available for public inspection beginning September 7, 2020 on the Oakland Township website at www.oaklandtownship.org, at the reference desk of the Rochester Hills Public Library, at the Parks and Recreation Offices at the Paint Creek Cider Mill, 4480 Orion Road, Rochester, MI 48306 and at the Oakland Township Hall.

Written comments addressed to “OT Parks 2020 MNRTF Acquisition Grant Application” must be received via email sent to parksplanning@oaklandtownship.org or by submitting them in the new drive-up drop box located at the Oakland Township Hall, 4393 Collins Road, Rochester, MI 48306, by September 9, 2020.
