PUBLIC NOTICE – TOWNSHIP OF RAY NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020

To the Qualified Electors: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the GENERAL ELECTION will be held in the Township of Ray, County of Macomb, State of Michigan on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the places of holding the Election in said township as indicated below.

RAY TOWNSHIP PRECINCTS:

Precincts 1 and 2

Ray Township Hall, 64255 Wolcott Road, Ray, MI 48096

All precincts are handicap accessible. Voting instructions are available in alternative formats. Contact your Clerk’s office for details. Please note that “photo identification” requirement implemented per Michigan Election Law, requires voter’s appearing at polling locations to present picture identification, or sign an affidavit if they do not have picture identification with them.

The polls of said election will be open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that for the General Election you will be voting on nominating candidates for the following offices:

U.S. President/Vice President, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative in Congress, State Representative, State Board of Education, University of Michigan Regents, Michigan State University Trustees, Wayne State University Governors. Justice of Supreme Court, Judge of Court of Appeals, Judge of Circuit Court, Judge of Probate Court. Macomb County: County Clerk, Registrar of Deeds, Treasurer, Sheriff, Public Works Commissioner, County Commissioner. Macomb Community College Board of Trustees. Armada Area School Board Member, New Haven School Board Member, Romeo Community School Board Member, Utica Community School Board Member. Ray Township Library Board (6).

STATE PROPOSALS:

A proposed constitutional amendment to allow additional money from oil and gas mining on state-owned lands to be collected in state funds for development and maintenance of parks, nature areas, and public recreation facilities; and to describe how money in those state funds can be spent.

A proposed constitutional amendment to require a search warrant in order to access a person’s electronic data or electronic communications.

Please note that the Township of Ray will be open to the public Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to process absentee ballot requests and to Register to Vote. Friday, October 30 is the last day an absent voter ballot can be mailed via First Class mail. On Monday, November 2, 2020 absentee ballots must be voted in person at the clerk’s office up until 4:00 p.m.
