Delmar W. Stone, 90, of Washington Township, entered the kingdom of heaven, peacefully at his home on Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 2020, while holding his wife’s hands and surrounded by family. Delmar was born Sept. 14, 1930 in Tenn., moved to Michigan as a young child, and became a lifelong resident of Macomb County thereafter. He married the love of his life, Eleanor (Ellie) Kaczwara, on Nov. 25, 1950. They privately renewed their vows for their 70th anniversary with family on Dec. 11, 2020. Delmar was a devoted husband, committed family man and a Christian.

Del was an entrepreneur from the age of 19 when he built his own Texaco service station. Next came Stone’s Sport and Marine and a Honda City Dealership. He was also co-owner at Washington Square Apartments, War-Del Motel and Mackinaw Motor Court.  In later years, he joined his wife Ellie in ownership of Park Side Real Estate. In addition, he was an avid and well-traveled hunter.  Del was a well- known, respected and generous man who took pride in being a man of his word.

Delmar belonged to numerous organizations such as Freemasons, Grand Commandery of Knights Templar, The Shriners, The Order of the Eastern Star, and was a life member and past president of The Lions Club of  Washington Township where he was actively involved with Leader Dogs of the Blind.

Delmar is survived by his wife Ellie; two daughters, Tracie (James) Steinmetz of Romeo and Tamara Stone of Macomb Township; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Delmar was preceded in death by a grandson and his two brothers.
