
Edmund Lee Risch, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 surrounded by his family. Ed was born Jan. 21, 1933, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Scheissier).
Ed modeled his life around the principles of gratitude, morality and appreciation for the “wonderful world” around him. His is most known for his work of helping others at the Samaritan House, Four County Community Foundation, St. Clement of Rome Church and many other organizations. He was instrumental in the formation of Samaritan House and Four County Community Foundation. Ed’s honesty and integrity will long live in the people he loved and helped.
He was a loyal and passionate family man. His most recent joy was his great-granddaughter Sophia Irene who always made him smile. Ed was just as passionate about his grandchildren. “Gpa” was always there to support them in their endeavors and served as a kind and encouraging mentor in their lives. Ed was a strong supporter of his children and consistently went out of his way to tend to the needs of those he loved.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War while stationed in Japan. Ed spent his entire career working (35 years) as a loyal member of the Ford Motor Company family. He retired as Labor Relations Manager at the Ford Tractor Plant in Romeo.
Ed was active throughout his life, an avid golfer, participating in church activities and serving numerous non-profit organizations.
Ed is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Prudy) Risch, Jeanine, Julie, Karyn(Kelly) and Jennifer (Chad)Youngblood; grandchildren, Craig (Sydney), Ryan, Rachel, Dillon, Shena, Tiffany (Jereme), Stacy (Joe); siblings, Cecilia and Jane; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Monday, April 5, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo
Burial is the Romeo Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo.
