Carl Edward Monahan, 84 of Dallas, Texas and formerly of Romeo, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. He was born on Oct. 1, 1936 in Detroit to Terrence and Dorothy Monahan. He married the love of his life Ruth Tollefson on Oct. 24, 1983.
After graduating from Romeo High School in 1955 he joined the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Petty Officer, Third Class. He retired from F. Shumacher & Co. in Fort Mill, S.C. in the late 1990s.
Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Tollefson Monahan; sister-in-law, Patricia Monahan; and brother-in-law, Donald Henderson.
He is survived by his brother, William Monahan of Romeo; and sisters, Rosemary Henderson of Shelby Township and Cheryl (Kenneth) Zuehlk of Ray Township; and many loving nieces and nephews, Bob, Tom, Jeff, Karen, Terry, Rick, Steve, Jennifer and Sherry.
Funeral services were held on Monday June 8, 2021 at his final resting place in section Veteran II at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
