The Treasurer’s Office’s of Bruce and Washington are currently accepting Summer 2021 Tax Deferment Applications.
To apply for your Principal Residence Deferment: to qualify your total gross household income cannot exceed $40,000 for the preceding tax year and the applicant must also be 1.) at least 62 years of age; or 2.) totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic or quadriplegic; or 3)eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, or eligible widow or widower.
Those that farm Agricultural Real Property may also qualify provided the property is classified or used as agricultural real property, and that the gross receipts of the agricultural or horticultural operations in the previous year (or the average gross receipts for such operations in the previous three years) is not less than the household income for the preceding calendar year.
More information and the deferment applications can be obtained at your Township’s Treasurer’s Office. Deferment applications must be filed prior to 9/15/21 with your local Treasurer.
NOTICE OF TAX BILLS MAILED
All tax bills will have been mailed by July1, 2021. Contact your Treasurer’s office if you have not received your bill.
