Barbara Wolak, of Rochester, won the $5,976 grand prize in the Friends of the Rochester Hills Library 61/39 Raffle. Pictured left to right, are Friends secretary Sandy Tabacchi, Wolak, Friends vice-president Bill Kroger, Library Director Julian Morian and Jean Kroger with the giant prize. Wolak is a retired teacher, who is well-known to library staff as a regular patron, had her entry drawn from 460 tickets by special guest radio personality Lynne Woodison. Her prize represent 39 percent of the pot. The Friends’ share was 61 percent (to honor the group’s 61st anniversary) or $9,358. Wolak gave $1,000 of her winnings right back to the Friends.
