NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at its regular meeting on May 24, 2022, at the Township Hall located at 4393 Collins Rd, Rochester, MI 48306, the Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees approved the proposed Zoning Ordinance 16 amendments as follows:

ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE
(Text Amendments to Zoning Ordinance)
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE OAKLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES, ORD. NO. 16 “ZONING ORDINANCE,” BY AMENDING SEC. 16-109, “ADMINISTRATION, ZONING COMPLIANCE, AND ENFORCEMENT,” FOR PURPOSES OF PROHIBITING THE PROCESSING OR APPROVAL OF A DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL IF THE PROPERTY IS SUBJECT TO AN OUTSTANDING PROPERTY MAINTENANCE OR CODE VIOLATION.
SECTION 16-09(L)
An application for approval of a variance, special land use, permit, or any other development request, shall not be processed or placed on an agenda for a public hearing if a public hearing is required for approval under the Zoning Ordinance if the site and/or building for which the approval is sought is subject to any outstanding, unresolved Property Maintenance or Code violation. Any outstanding Property Maintenance or Code violation must first be resolved by correcting the violation or by having the applicant/property owner sign a written code compliance agreement with the Township setting forth a written commitment by the applicant/property owner to bring the site and/or building into full compliance with all provisions of the applicable code within a specific time period acceptable to the Zoning Administrator.
A true copy of the Ordinance is on file and available for review during normal business hours at the Oakland Township office. Necessary and reasonable aids to individuals with disabilities will be provided at the meeting with seven-day notice. Visit www.oaklandtownship.org for more information.
The effective date of the amendments will occur (8) days from the date of publication.
