Also present: Clerk Poulos, Treasurer Adair, Jeffrey Bahorski, Stacy Sobotka, Kevin Grand, Jason Scott, and Steve Nikkel.
COUNCIL ACTION: Approved Agenda as presented. Heard and/or Received: Code Enforcement and Police Action Report for July, 2022; the Planning Commission Meeting Minutes of 7-6-22. Verbal reports from Water Commissioner Boelke and Trustee Shall. Approved the Consent Agenda as presented: RCM Minutes of 7/25/22 approved as presented; Payment of Bills totaling $172,676.53 as presented (Coenen: abstains from Minutes). Heard a verbal report from Sewer Commissioner Clark. Unanimously approved: to grant the request by owners of We The People (a business located at 23010 Main Street, Armada) to install a permanent concrete American Disabilities Act Compliant ramp on Village property adjacent to the business; to approve the proposal from Professional Remodeling and Insurance Services for building repairs and installing a 36” steel Bollard for a cost not to exceed $1,890.00. Approved: to authorize the Village of Armada to extend an offer of employment to Kurt VanRyckeghem at the base hourly rate of $19.00 per hour, with overtime, comp time, clothing allowance, workers comp and liability insurance benefits comparable to those provided to current full time DPW employees. Eligible for medical, dental, disability and life insurance after 90 days of employment, personal and sick time, and holiday pay upon successful completion of the probationary period. The offer of employment is subject to VanRyckeghem passing background and medical examinations and continued employment is contingent upon VanRyckeghem completing a six-month probationary period after which an employment agreement may be offered.
