NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Washington Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on Monday September 12th 2022 at 6:30 p.m., at 57900 Van Dyke, Washington Township Michigan 48094 in the Board Room at the Washington Township Municipal Building. The purpose of this meeting is to consider an appeal by:

Washington Township Zoning Ordinance, Article 3.0 Zoning Districts, Section 3.3 R-1 Rural Residential, D. Development Standards, Maximum Impervious Surface.
An interpretation of the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance, Article 2.0 Definitions, Section 2.2 Definitions, Impervious Surface.
Purpose of request:
The owner respectfully requests the following relief;
1) For the ZBA to grant a dimensional variance for the impervious surface requirement from its current 37% to 30%, which would allow the Owner to keep the existing patio and driveway brick pavers on the property as is; or
2) A ZBA interpretation of the term “impervious surface” under the zoning ordinance, Article 2 – Definitions, to exclude the permeable pavers from being considered as impervious surface.
