A regular meeting of the Charter Township of Oakland Board of Trustees was called to order on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 7:17 PM in the Township Hall, 4393 Collins Rd, Rochester, MI.
PRESENT: Dominic Abbate, Supervisor; Robin Buxar, Clerk; John Giannangeli, Treasurer; Jack Elder, Trustee; Dave Mabry, Trustee; Lana Mangiapane, Trustee; Andy Zale, Trustee
ABSENT: None
THE FOLLOWING MOTIONS WERE MADE AND PASSED:
1. To approve the agenda as amended.
2. To approve the Consent Agenda as read.
3. To approve Resolution 22-16 Current Salary and Hourly Wage Rates for Current
4. Employees be Increased by 5%, effective the first pay period following the adoption of this resolution. It will be effective from 04/01/2022 for all eligible employees hired on or before 12/31/2021.
4. To approve Resolution 22-17, The Township shall sponsor a Health Care Savings Plan (HCSP) for those employees in groups that are currently eligible to receive Township sponsored 457 benefits. The Township shall contribute 2% of annualized base wages to an HCSP effective the pay period following the adoption of this resolution and execution of the HCSP.
5. To approve Resolution 22-18 to have the Township Manager execute amendments to the Township Sponsored 457 – Defined contribution plan so that the Township contributions equal 13% of the regular annualized base wages effective the pay period following the adoption of this resolution and execution of the plan amendments.
6. For approval for Clerk Buxar to recuse herself from the vote regarding Resolution 22-19.
7. To approve Resolution 22-19 for purposes of fairly compensating the elected Clerk for services in addition to her currently held statutory duties, the Oakland Township Board of Trustees does hereby increase the Clerk’s compensation to $1,200.00 per week effective on the date of this resolution for a term not to exceed 45 days unless at the Board’s sole discretion and at any time the term is extended or terminated by motion of this Board.
