PUBLIC NOTICE – TOWNSHIP OF RAY NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2022

To the Qualified Electors: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the General Election will be held in the Township of Ray, County of Macomb, State of Michigan on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the place of holding the Election in said township as indicated below.

Ray Township, Precinct 1 and Precinct 2 – Ray Township Hall, 64255 Wolcott Rd, Ray, MI 48096

All precincts are handicap accessible in accordance with the provisions of “ADA”. Voting instructions are also available in alternative forms (audio and Braille). All precincts are handicap accessible. Voting instructions are available in alternative formats. Contact your Clerk’s office for details. Please note that “photo identification” requirement implemented per Michigan Election Law, requires voter’s appearing at polling locations to present picture identification, or sign an affidavit if they do not have picture identification with them.

THE POLLS of said election will be open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. of said day of election.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that for the General Election you will be voting on nominating candidates for the following office:

State: Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General

Congressional: Representative in Congress 9th District

Legislative: State Senator 24th District, Representative in State Legislature 65th District

State Boards: Member of the State Board of Education, Regent of the University of Michigan, Trustee of Michigan State University, Governor of Wayne State University

County: County Executive, County Commissioner 1st District

Nonpartisan Section: Judicial: Justice of Supreme Court, Judge of Court of Appeals 2nd District Incumbent Position, Judge of Court of Appeals 2nd District Incumbent Partial Term Ending 01/01/2027, Judge of Circuit Court 16th Court, Judge of Circuit Court 16th Court Incumbent Position Partial Term Ending 01/01/2025, Judge of Probate Court Incumbent Position Partial Term Ending 01/01/27.

Community College: Board of Trustees Member Macomb Community College.

Ray Township Library: Library Board Member Partial Term Ending 11/20/24.

Armada Area Schools: Board Member (3) 6-year Terms, Board Member (1) Partial Term Ending 12/31/2024.

New Haven Community Schools: Board Member (2) 6-year terms, Board Member (1) Partial Term Ending 12/31/2026.

Romeo Community Schools: Board Member (2) 6-year terms.

Proposal 22-1: A proposal to amend the state constitution to require annual public financial disclosure reports by legislators and other state officers and change state legislator term limit to 12 total years in legislature.

Proposal 22-2: A proposal to amend the state constitution to add provisions regarding elections.

Proposal 22-3: A proposal to amend the state constitution to establish new individual right to reproductive freedom, including right to make all decisions about pregnancy and abortion; allow state to regulate abortion in come cases; and forbid prosecution of individuals exercising established right.

Please note the Clerk’s office of Ray Township will be open on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to obtain an absentee ballot. Friday, November 4th, 2022 is the last day an absent voter ballot can be mailed via First Class mail. On Monday, November 7, 2022 absentee ballots must be voted in person at the Clerk’s office up until 4:00 p.m.
