Edward Michael Blake, 73, of Armada, died suddenly on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was born on July 3, 1949, in Detroit, the son of Gerald James and Elisabeth Marie (née Andries) Blake. On June 18, 1971, he married Cheryl Smith at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo, and they shared 52 wonderful years together, raising three sons.

Edward grew up in Armada on the Blake Family Farm and graduated from Armada High School in 1967. After a 30-year career with Ford Motor Company, he retired from his position as a machine coordinator at the Romeo Engine Plant in 2004. Edward was a car enthusiast who enjoyed fast cars, deer hunting, being on the water or at the beach, winters in Florida, and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was also a mentor for the program. Over the years, Edward helped many people and created many lifelong friendships. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.

Edward is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Jesse (Kristen) Blake, Jeff (Elizabeth) Blake, and Jason (Rachelle) Blake; grandchildren, Hayden, Hudson, Lyla, Kyle, and Jake; siblings, Richard (Diane) Blake, Joseph (Sue) Blake, Martin (Sandra) Blake, Peter (Andrea) Blake, Paul (Kathleen) Blake, Rose Mary (Tom) Dickinson, Susan (Rob) Pickering, and Elisabeth (Daniel) Duncan; sisters-in-law, June Blake and Janice Blake; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family, and friends.

Edward was predeceased by his siblings, Gerald Blake, Raymond Blake, Patricia Blake, and Robert Blake, and his parents.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 Fulton, Armada.

The funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. with a 9:30 a.m. instate time on Thursday, June 22 at St. Clement of Romeo Catholic Church, 343 South Main Street, Romeo.

The burial will take place in West Berlin Cemetery, Berlin Township.
