Dianne Veronica Hopkins, 82, of Capac, died peacefully Tuesday, June 20, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born July 9, 1940 in Detroit, the daughter of John and Mary (Opalech) Tarnacki. She married her husband Perry Hopkins, Jr. June 20, 1959 in Detroit.

Dianne attended Pershing High School in Detroit. In 1972, she moved to Capac to raise her family. Dianne was a great cook. Her family especially loved her lasagna, pierogis and chop suey as well as her carrot cake and chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed gardening and raised golden retrievers. Dianne traveled to Ormond Beach in Florida with her husband during the winter months. She also traveled with her sisters to the East Coast states and ventured across the ocean to Ireland, Scotland and England. She loved spending time with her family and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Perry; loving children, Perry (Tracie) Hopkins, of Imlay City, Paul (Lori) Hopkins, of Burtchville, Michael (Cristen) Hopkins, of Imlay City, Deanna (Frank) Giglio, of Ray Township; beloved grandchildren, Rebecca Hopkins, Evan Hopkins, Erin Hopkins, Alyssa (Brian) Badder, Brenan Hopkins, Austin Hopkins, Tyler Mamps, Trevor Mamps, Tristan Hopkins, Tiffany Hopkins and Cole Giglio; one great-grandson, Lincoln Badder; and siblings, Joan (Don) Swantek, Margaret Lulek, Bob (Collette) Tarnacki, Joyce Kralik and Joe (Bonnie) Tarnacki.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Charlotte Plummer and John Tarnacki.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 27 and 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, June 28 at Muir Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke-Imlay City, MI 48444.

A memorial service is at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, with Deacon Franz Hoffer officiating.
