Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 beginning at 6:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on amendments to Section 161-5.27 of the Zoning Ordinance, which regulates exterior lighting. The section is being updated to provide better guidance on when non-residential lighting must be upgraded, to better prevent glare and other distracting or harmful lighting, and protect dark skies by controlling the color of lighting and provide for lighting to dim or turn off outside business hours
A complete copy of the amendments may be examined at Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065, prior to the public hearing, during the Township’s regular business hours, Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 AM through 4:30 PM and Thursday, 8:30 AM through 4:30 PM. Written comments may be addressed to the Planning Commission at the Township Hall address. Oral comments will be taken during the hearing on January 7th, 2026.
