PUBLIC NOTICE – NOTICE OF ADOPTION WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL ORDINANCE TOWNSHIP OF ARMADA

Notice is hereby given that at its regular meeting of January 14, 2026, the Board of Trustees adopted Ordinance No. R2026-02, commonly referred to as Waste Collection and Disposal Ordinance. The Ordinance has been published within 30 days of the Boards adoption and becomes effective 30 days after publication of this notice. Copies of the text of the Ordinance are available at the Township Offices during regular business hours. A summation of the Ordinance is as follows.

The Ordinance provides for establishing and implementing a program for refuse collection and disposal by a single waste hauler for all single-family generation sites within the Township, providing for the selection of a waste hauler and for services to be rendered by the waste hauler, establishing collection procedures and prohibiting the unlawful transportation of refuse. The Ordinance includes the following Sections:

Section 1. Short Title; Section 2. Definitions, Section 3. Designated Single Waste Hauler; Section 4. Promulgation of Rules; Section 5. Prohibited Conduct; Section 6. -; Section 7. Enforcement and Penalties; Section 8. All ordinances or parts of ordinances or any section of the Township’s Code of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed; Section 9. The sections of this Ordinance are declared to be severable and if any section is declared illegal, or void for any reason, it shall not affect the remainder of the Ordinance; Section 10. This Ordinance or summary shall be published in accordance in a newspaper of general circulation in the Township within thirty (30) days of adoption; Section 11. This ordinance shall be effective March 1, 2026.
