PUBLIC NOTICE – RAY TOWNSHIP NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS

In compliance with the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, please be advised that on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the Ray Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to obtain public input regarding the following proposed amendments to the Ray Township Zoning Ordinance.

1. Changes to Section 3001, Definitions, Lot Width, requiring the minimum lot width to be measured from a public street.

2. Changes to Section 2500, to not allow private roads.

3. Changes to Section 2300 C – Site Condominiums, to not allow private roads.

4. Changes to Section 2300 E – Site Condominiums, Design Standard, to not allow private roads.

5. Changes to Section 2400, D, 3 – Open Space Communities, to not allow private roads.

6. Changes to Section 403 T, 503 S, 603 Q, 703 Q, and 803 Q, to eliminate private roads as an allowable special land use.

The Public Hearing will take place at the Ray Township Hall, 64255 Wolcott, Ray, Michigan 48096. Citizen comments are welcome and may be provided in person at the Public Hearing. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the above address up until the date and time of the meeting.

Copies of the ordinance amendments are available for inspection at the Ray Township Offices during regular business hours.
