ROGER J. BETCHER

Roger Joseph Betcher, 75, of Harrison Township, died Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born on Aug. 24, 1950, in Detroit, to the late Harold and Erma (née Paull) Betcher. On July 7, 1973, he married the love of his life, Pamela (née Leach).

Beloved husband of Pamela Betcher for 53 wonderful years, she was his true soulmate. They were best friends and had the most beautiful marriage anyone has ever seen. Cherished father of Joe (the late Meagan) Betcher and Jon (Jillian) Betcher. Proud and loving grandfather of Hunter, Carter, Landon, Evan, and Brielle. Dear brother of Paulette (Frank) Brooks, Janice (Roy) Elswick, Vicki (Ron) Ellis, the late Jeff (Ginny) Betcher, and the late Greg (Angie) Betcher. Roger is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Roger began his working career at the age of 16 and he began sweeping floors and eventually became vice president and general manager. He remained dedicated to the same company throughout his life until he retired, exemplifying loyalty and commitment.

Roger found his greatest joy in the outdoors. Whether hunting in the quiet woods or casting a line on a peaceful lake or river, he felt most at home in Northern Michigan with his family. He resided in Harrison Township, but his true home was in Atlanta Michigan. His passion for the outdoors was where he taught life’s most meaningful lessons. Through patience and hard work, Roger passed along values that shaped his children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to share those moments with him. He taught us the true meaning of life, lessons that money can’t buy, and these teachings will live on forever in the hearts of his children and grandchildren. He truly was the best man that we have ever known.

Roger never gave up no matter what challenges came his way. He was the strongest man. Roger passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. His legacy will live on forever. He will never be forgotten.

Visitation was held Wednesday, July 1 at Wujek-Calcaterra and Sons Funeral Home in Sterling Heights. A funeral was held Thursday, July 2 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Harrison Township. Interment took place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Meagan’s Way Foundation (https://www.meagansway.org/).
