
Charles Milo Meeker, 76, of Romeo, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong Romeo resident and was born Sept. 15, 1949, in Romeo, the son of Charles and Irene (Dagner) Meeker.
Charles graduated from Romeo High School in 1967 and went on to graduate from Ferris State University with a degree in Business and Finance. He met the love of his life, Deborah (Conn), and they were married in April of 1973. Together, they shared more than 53 years of marriage and built a loving family.
Charles worked in security and care at Macomb County Youth Home in Mount Clemens.
Charles had many interests and hobbies that brought him enjoyment throughout his life. He was an avid bowler and participated in leagues at Hideaway Lanes in Almont and Summit in Romeo. In his younger years, he also enjoyed playing softball on local leagues. He loved building and painting models and was especially fond of cats. Charles also enjoyed playing Warhammer 40,000, a British miniature wargame, which combined his interests in strategy, history, and model building.
An avid reader, Charles enjoyed science fiction, history, and Westerns. He had a curious mind and appreciated the stories and worlds found in the books and hobbies he loved.
Above all, Charles treasured his family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and especially enjoyed spending time together and making memories with them.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Meeker of Romeo; his children, Chuck Meeker of Bozeman, Montana, Jason (Mary) Meeker of Brown City, Colin (Ruth) Meeker of Plainfield, Connecticut, and Kourtney Meeker of Romeo; and his grandchildren, Alexis (Matthew), and Rory Meeker. He is also survived by his two beloved cats, Zoey and Polly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irene Meeker, and his siblings, Don Morte and Sara Treece.
