Kathryn J. Konarski, 78, of Kingston, formerly of Romeo, passed away with loving family by her side on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 at her home. She was born Dec. 12, 1941 in Almont, the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Hannan) Treadgold. Kathryn married Michael Jon Konarski on July 14, 1961 in Imlay City.
She graduated from Imlay City High School with the Class of 1959. Kathryn taught Catechism at St. Clemens of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo and was an advocate for anti-drug education at Romeo High School. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing Up North at the family cabin, bear hunting, riding motorcycles, baking and cooking.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Michael Konarski; three sons, Michael (Ann) Konarski II, Matthew (Barbara) Konarski and Nicholas (Tyree) Konarski; seven grandchildren, Abigail (Dominic) Hayes, Rebecca, Leanna, Benjamin, Jenna, Angelene and Jacob Konarski; and sister, Evelyn (Gary) Hoeksema.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Shaver.
Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette and 10-11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 6 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette.
A funeral service is scheduled 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 6 at Holy Family Parish St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette with the Rev. Stephen Blaxton officiating.
Burial will take place at Siple Cemetery, Marlette.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
