Ada Esther Standfest, 71 of Imlay City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 19, 1949 in Detroit, the daughter of John Allen Rogers and Sevart (Shanlian) Rogers. On March 21, 1970, she married Harvey Standfest at Pilgrim’s Holiness Church in Utica.

She grew up in the Washington Township and Romeo area attended Romeo Community Schools> She is a 1967 graduate of Romeo High School.

Ada and her husband, Harvey, owned and operated several successful local businesses including Oak Hill and Lighthouse Adult Foster Care homes in Imlay City and Attica. Ada had a love for all people and enjoyed the interaction her businesses gave with the community.  Ada was a devoted Christian and touched many people’s hearts over the years; she will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Standfest of Imlay City; son, Bradley (Margaret) Standfest of Attica; grandchildren, Bradley J. Standfest, Ezekiel Standfest, Faith (Griffin) Longley; brothers, John (Marjeta) Rogers of Imlay City,  Albert (Diane) Rogers of Florida and Virgil Rogers of Florida.

Ada is preceded by her parents, John Rogers and Sevart (Shanlian) Rogers.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is being held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2021 at Orchard Community Church, 74903 McKay Road, Bruce Township. The Rev. Bruce Standfest and the Rev. Brad Standfest will officiate. All are invited to join the family for a luncheon following the service at The Bells Event Center in Almont.

The family will be available for visitation 10-11 a.m., Friday, March 19 at Orchard Community Church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
