Michael Smith Poosch, 76, of Romeo, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at the Vista Spring Nursing Facility in Washington Township. He was born Sept. 20, 1945 in Detroit, the son of Lester and Shirley (Smith) Poosch.
After graduating from Romeo High School in 1963, Michael earned many and varied degrees, including a doctorate in pharmacology from Wayne State University’s College of Medicine and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan as well as attending the Detroit Institute of Technology. His last employment included working with physical therapy nursing students at Oakland University in the biology department.
When not working, Mike loved to read and listen to classical music.
Michael is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Glisch); sons, Charles Poosch and John (Kristie) Poosch; grandchildren, Alexandria, Christian and Isabella Poosch as well as Violet and Vann Hixon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Julie Cole.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
