CHERYL L. ZUEHLK

Cheryl L. Zuehlk, 73, of Ray Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was born on March 10, 1948 in Detroit, the daughter of Terrance and Dorothy (Wehenkel) Monahan. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Zuehlk on April 12, 1969 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo.

Cheryl graduated from Dominican Academy in Oxford, class of 1966. She worked at the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. Later in life she was the Adult Education Coordinator at St. Clement of Rome.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Zuehlk; sons, Richard (Teri) Zuehlk of Macomb Township, Stephen Zuehlk of Chesterfield Township; daughters, Jennifer (Ramon) Acosta of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Sherry (Christopher) Carr of Ray Township; grandchildren, Kaila and Cameron Zuehlk, and Kailee and Kara Acosta; siblings, Rosemary Henderson and William Monahan; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Carl Monahan.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19 at the Henry Marburg Funeral Home, Romeo.

Funeral mass is 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 20 at St. Clement of Rome with 9:30 a.m. instate viewing.

Burial is at the Davis Cemetery in Ray Township.
