It is with great sadness that the family of Fredrick J. Fillbrook announce his passing on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022. Fredrick was born on Feb. 10, 1937 in Detroit, the son of John and Marie (Pelteo) Fillbrook. He married his wife Nola Coleman on May 17, 2015.

Fred was a long-time resident of Washington Township, Mich. and lived in various cities, most recently in Mill Creek, Wash. where, he was the publisher of the Mill Creek View Newspaper.

Fred was a proud veteran of the 82nd Airborne. He was the co-founder of the Veterans Day Parade in Mill Creek, Wash. and co-established the Veterans Monument in Mill Creek.  He belonged to military groups such as Amvets and the American Legion.  Karaoke was his favorite pastime.

Fred is survived by his wife, Nola Fillbrook of Mill Creek, Wash.; children, Susan (Thomas) Dickman, of Chicago, Michael (Ruth) Fillbrook of Bruce Township and Steven (Linda) Fillbrook of Romeo; stepchildren, Denny Fillbrook and Tiffany Fillbrook; grandchildren, Angel, Branden, Neal, Jake, Lucille and Lois Jane; great-grandson, Ashton Blake; and great granddaughter, Penelope Fillbrook.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Marie Fillbrook DiBlasio.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m., Thursday, March 3 at Muir Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, 296 South Main Street, Romeo.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 4 at the funeral home.

Burial will be made at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Washington Township.
