Laura E. Olson, 90, of Ostego, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022 at Medilodge in Kalamazoo. She was born Jan. 18, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of Paul and Eva (Minerd) Twyman. She married David Olson on Oct. 21, 1950.
Laura moved to Bangor in 1942 where she graduated from Bangor High School and also met her husband. In 1958, she moved to Romeo with her family. Laura served as deputy clerk for Washington Township for 20 years. She was active in the Methodist Church in Romeo and after retiring she volunteered at Crittenden Hospital in Rochester. Laura moved to Otsego in 1992 and was a member of the Otsego United Methodist Church. She volunteered with Wings of Hope Hospice, Borgess Hospital and Borgess Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
She is survived by her son, Stefan (Elizabeth) Olson; grandchildren, Neal, John and Katie Olson; special daughter-in-law, Janice Olson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Olson; granddaughter, Courtney Olson; and siblings, Paul Twyman Jr, Emma Wood and Pearl Nyman.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7 at the Otsego United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Africa and the Rev. Dan Minor officiating.
Private family burial will take place at Arlington Hills Cemetery in Bangor.
