Ruth Kloock, 92, of Romeo, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at Ascension Providence Hospital, in Rochester. She was born Oct. 23, 1930 in Leonard, the daughter of Clifford and Dorothy (Hagedorn) Compton. She married Marvin H. Kloock on Feb. 14, 1953 at St John Lutheran Church in Romeo.
Ruth worked as a nurse’s aide at the Community Hospital in Almont and worked at Blackett’s Flowers in Romeo and Utica. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and playing pinochle as well as attending exercise classes with good friends at the Washington Township Senior Center. She loved her birthday outdoor “work day,” serving sloppy joes at her annual Peach Festival party, as well as her family and her extended circle of friends.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; children, Nadine (Bill) Mott of Rochester Hills; Mark (Rachel) Kloock of Shelby Township, Stacey (Bob) Bozynski of Waterford and Scott (Jessica) Kloock of Saranac; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar; sister-in-law, Betty Compton, of Romeo; and sister, Dorothy Tyler of Grand Rapids.
Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 28 at St. John Lutheran Church of Romeo with the Rev. Darcy Reis officiating.
Burial will take place at the Great Lakes Veteran Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
