On March 6, 2024, the Township Board of Trustees for the Charter Township of Washington, approved an Amendment to the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance, being Ordinance 138, as amended, deleting the definitions of building (multiple), building (single family), nursing home, and convalescent or rest home; adding the definitions of multi-family dwelling, single family, dwelling and convalescent or nursing home revising the definition of usable floor area; revising the regulations regarding the keeping of private animals set forth in Section 4.47 to be consistent with Ordinance No. 156, revising regulations regarding building frontage in the Village District and providing for the ability of the Board to waive fees upon request from a delegated authority.
A complete copy of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment is posted in the office of the Township Clerk located at 57900 Van Dyke Avenue, Washington Township, Michigan 48094 and on the Washington Township website which can be accessed at www.washingtontownship.org. The Zoning Ordinance Amendment and revised Zoning Map may be reviewed, inspected or a copy purchased at the Township Clerkâs Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Ordinance Amendment shall take effect seven (7) days after this publication.
